Our Work

We create powerful learning environments that enable delegates to make paradigm shifts around leadership and personal effectiveness – both in their thoughts and behaviours. Those environments are created through careful design, relevant and strong content and expert facilitation.

Our services use the principles of blended learning. This is a combination of providing models and theories, activities and reflection. The closest thing to a system would be Kolb. Our approach reflects the learning principles of Do, Feel, Review, Understand. The key is for the participants to be in the right psychological place to discover or receive their learning.

Our preference is to work in the physical space. However, where this is unavailable we now have the capability of conducting this online.

The approach explores Self-Awareness, creates space to exercise Self-Control, encourages Self-Confidence and grows Self-Respect.  It’s a more holistic approach with longer lasting impact.

Our Influences

The Leadership Trust, one of the earliest organisations to conduct development of leadership skills for adults outside the military, uses experiential methodology. Set up in 1975 by an ex senior trainer in the Special Air Service, the principles used are all about using personal power rather than authoritative to get the very best followership. Their principles of leadership and style of development influence our approach to developing leadership skills.

Professor Stephen Covey author of the ‘7 Habits of highly effective people’ and now the 8th habit  provides a great framework for personal effectiveness that works well in both personal and professional lives. His work is referenced within elements of some of our programmes.

John Adair was the world’s first Professor of Leadership and in 2009 was appointed Chair of Leadership Studies United Nations System Staff College in Turin. His ‘Action Centred Leadership’ provides a rich structure for leadership functions. Some of this content is weaved into the programmes where appropriate.

Patrick Lencioni, founder of The Table Group, author ‘Five Dysfunctions of a Team’ and ‘The Ideal Team Player’ which highlights the 3 virtues required. This often crops up within our programmes particularly when exploring team working.

Daniel Goleman’s work on emotional intelligence which helps form new insights into the architecture of the brain, has shown how emotional intelligence can be nurtured and strengthened in all of us. It underpins much of our work.

Daniel Pink’s work on motivation combined with David Rock’s SCARF model will often feature within our coaching based activities.

When it comes to influences upon our work, there are many. However, these are just some of the more notable influences which are skilfully blended together in an appropriate way to maximise learning and discovery.
